This was a difficult evening for the Eynesbury team as most of their players arrived at the Alfred Hall Memorial Ground to hear the news that manager Martin Field had resigned his post only a couple of hours prior to kick off. However, familiar faces in coach Paul Reynolds and Under 21 boss Mark Inskip took charge for the match.

On the pitch Rovers proved to be hard working and difficult to break down. In a half of few quality goal chances Eynesbury played some good football but lacked the final thrust to reward their build up play. At the other end Newport carved out numerous half chances but their run of bad luck in front of goal continued. If they keep performing to the high standards demanded by manager Darren Lynch during the coming weeks their luck will surely change and with the amount of chances they create they will win by a heavy margin soon.

After the interval Rovers changed tactics and became more direct, at first the Swan’s struggled to adapt and on far too many occasions gave the ball away with rushed attacking play only to see it pumped back toward their own goal. Slowly but steadily they regained their composure and control and eventually, with fourteen minutes left to play, they managed to get their second goal to take the sting out of Rover’s spirited play. Eynesbury were already beaten when Fazel Koriya scored one of the goals of the season, his sublime strike ensured the Swan’s completed their first double of the season.

This season Newport Pagnell Town FC, Swan Confidential matchday programme and The View From The Shed are proud to support 4 year old Jaycee May O’Conner, a local girl who has Rett Syndrome.

The rare condition, that predominantly affects girls, stunts development of the brain and leads to rapid regression and a loss of skills such as crawling or sitting.
This means that Jaycee May is unable to talk and she also has regular seizures.

Her family are trying to raise funds to buy life changing Tobii Eyegaze technology, the equipment that will finally give Jaycee May a voice and enable her to communicate with others, something that we all take for granted.
