90+1.5 FULL TIME: Swans 7-0 The Millers

Summary

A great all-round team performance from the Swans saw them brush Spencer aside. Good decision making, precision passing and clinical finishing saw Newport score some well worked goals. However, Spencer started well and in the first half they created some chances of their own but the Swan’s defence were resolute and never looked under serious threat. A masterful second half performance saw Newport strengthen their stranglehold as Spencer struggled to cope as they were overrun in midfield. In previous weeks the Swan’s had squandered many chances but have finally found a rich vein of form, scoring goals almost at will. After the match Newport manager Darren Lynch said, “That result has been coming, great goals, a clean sheet and second in the league! Couldn’t ask for a better night of football”.
